Complete Guide How to Women’s Jeans

Let’s talk about women’s jeans, every woman knows that finding the right jeans is a nightmare task. From slim to curvy figure or petite to tall, or you are a model that’s height is 5’11”? That’s why I am here to help you. Let’s start with jeans. Yes, jeans are one of the hardest to fit pants type, you know what I am talking about. You want to make sure you choose the right pair of jeans. You don’t want to show your underwear to everyone (Yes boys I am talking to you). To avoid this, I will tell you how to measure the right waist height. Let’s get started.

Best to solve this problem is to wear higher-waist jeans, which is on trend recently. It seems like, they will be on trend for a long time. One of the reasons is, it helps to hide your tummy and act like a corset. Why? Because it gives support to your waist, also bending over won’t show anything that not supposed to be shown. One more advantage of higher-waist jean is that they will fit onto your hips and won’t slide down.

Did you know that pair of high-waist jeans fit better with long torsos? It’s due to the distance between waistband and crotch, also called “rise”. This is one of the most important details while choosing the right waist jeans. The shorter this length between waistband and crotch, the lower the pants will sit on your waist.

Hips are one of the easiest body parts that you can measure. Although for best results you should stand in front of full-length body mirror. Before measuring hips, take off your clothes to get the best results.

  • Place your feet together. Having your feet placed apart makes your hips wider, that means the measurement won’t be accurate. Try to place your feet together.
  • Hips are usually wider. Your hips are located below your natural waist and usually, hips are wider than your waist.
  • Measure it. Take cloth tape to start measuring your hips. Start from one side, go around your butt and to the other side. Pull the tape to the hip you started from. Look into the mirror and check if it covers all around your hips.
  • Final check. Make sure cloth tape is not twisted and it is tight enough, the only finger should fit underneath it.

1.3 How to measure your thighs?

Thighs are not easy to measure alone. Ask a friend or a family member for help.

The right place of your thighs. Stand with your legs straight and wrap cloth tape around the thickest part of your thigh. You can find them under the buttocks.

Length of your thighs. You can measure them between the back of your knee and along the back of your thigh (where the buttocks begin).

Measure your thigh accurate. Make sure when you measure your thighs, you don’t squeeze your cloth tape. This can cause inaccurate measurement of a thigh.

1.4 How to measure the length of your jeans?

Find your best-fit pair of jeans. The easiest way to measure jeans length, by taking your best fit jeans out of the closet. It’s simple, lay down your jeans on a flat surface. Measure from the bottom of the leg to the upper edge of the waistband.

1.5 How to measure leg opening?

Find your best-fit pair of jeans. If you did place your favorite pair of jeans to the closet, take them back. Yes, I should’ve mentioned before. To take your favorite pair of jeans, keep them with you until you finish reading this blog, hehe.

Back to the measuring. Take cloth tape and measure from one side of the leg opening to another one. Don’t forget to double it up.

That should be it! After following these steps you should be able to measure and choose the right jeans.

2. Where is your waist? Everyone has it different.

Some of us think that their natural waist is right at the belly button, but it is wrong. Everyone has their waist at a different spot, no one is the same. You can find your natural waist at the smallest point of your torso. If you are having trouble finding it, stand up and bend from side to side. Best to do this while you are in underwear. The highest point of your midsection is where your skin creases and folds, there is your natural waist.

2.1 Low-rise jeans.

Low-rise women’s jeans waistband meant to be worn at the hips and sit well below your natural waist. Approx. 2-3 inches below the belly button. Jeans with low-rise waistband best suited for flat tummies. For those who have short legs and a long torso, it is unlikely that low-rise jeans will fit you well.

The lower the waist, the shorter your legs will look. Keep in mind that!

2.2 Ultra-low-rise jeans.

Ultra low-rise women’s jeans are the lowest of all, also called Brazilian jeans. Approx. 4-5 inches below the belly button, yes, they are that low. If you are very short-waist, this might be a perfect pick for you.

2.3 Short-rise jeans.

Short-rise women’s jeans meant to be worn with a natural waist of a shorter person. It is comfortable and fits best for shorter bodies.

2.4 Medium-rise (natural) jeans.

Natural-rise women’s jeans waistband sits on the waist. Jeans with medium-rise waistband best suited for curvy bodies.

2.5 High-rise jeans.

High-rise women’s jeans are located above your natural waist around 1 inch. Jeans with high-rise waistband best suited for long bodies. Although high-rise jeans are now trending and are popular with any kind of bodies. That is true because if you have a tummy and don’t want it to show, you can choose them. As mentioned above, high-rise waistband jeans also support your body shape as a corset. If you have bigger tummy don’t choose the too small size. It can hide some rolls, but too many can push up over the waistline.

2.6 Super high-rise jeans.

Super high-rise women’s jeans usually are more than 1 inch above your natural waist. Best suited for long bodies to expose more of your legs. If you have long legs it is a good option to choose superhigh-rise jeans. Although it is not only for the long body but considered as best fit for that type of body.
